A mission to live better through food…
I’m starting this blog to inspire me to cook more, eat well and generally live better this year. I love to cook but over the past couple of years I have devoted more and more time to work and less to cooking and family life. As a result I am now pretty damn fat, much less confident than I was and not happy about any of it.
I got the idea for starting this blog this week – we had our best friends staying for New Year with their daughter and I cooked more and better food than I have in months and it was joyful. We were all bemoaning 2010 and how little we have done with it – too much work, too little fun, too many takeaways and ready meals, little cooking and really no taking time to savour food, with the exception of a couple of notable days, which I will talk about later.
Anyway, the point is to record it all – the good days and the bad days, and how I feel – to help to look back at things I really liked or made me feel rubbish, so I can get it right more often.
If any of my friends read this, and I stop posting, please moan at me until I start again. Life is too short to waste and will be even shorter if I die of a fatness-induced heart attack, which is sadly becoming a very real possibility. I need all the tools I can muster to inspire myself to keep going this year. It seems easy now, but it’s back to work on Tuesday, into year end and projects and audits and I’ll be back on the treadmill of endless work before I know it.
So here goes nothing…

Good luck! I have found that writing a blog really helps to keep you on track – its not always easy to record the bad days, so you make that extra effort to avoid going too far off track!
